Harvis Educational Learning Program began (in 2005) as my vision to help students develop better learning skills which would build their confidence and self-esteem and so result in achieving greater academic success. I started 'H.E.L.P.' to offer families the service of a local, family owned business of educators, that truly understand the frustrations as well as positive strategies necessary to help children gain the tools for success. I have now been employed as a Special Education Teacher for 13 years, with a Masters of Education degree. I am also Certified in Elementary Education, Social Studies and Psychology. I have been teaching students with various emotional and learning disabilities. My philosophy is that each child is a unique person with a variety of skills that need to be identified so that the proper strategies can be used to help gain the confidence for them to succeed.
